- Day Four -
Florence
After breakfast we all boarded a bus and headed to Florence. I was prepared for a boring 4-hour journey, but that didn't happen. The bus was equipped with a microphone and Marianna taught us some Italian words and phrases! Then she shared some pocket coffee with us.
Once in Florence, we went on a very entertaining walking tour with another local guide, Angelo. Then it was dinner time where we had a wonderful Tuscan dinner with our new group of friends.
DAILY TIP
Have some ACE juice with breakfast, che buono!
- Day Five -
Florence
Today started with a walking tour of the backstreets of Florence with a local guide. I found it helpful to turn on my fitness app to track the route! After our walk we had a cooking class, and the chef who ran the class was very entertaining. Everyone helped and we made pasta, a chicken and mushroom sauce, and panna cotta.
After lunch we toured the beautiful Boboli Garden. Then it was up to the very top of Brunelleschi's Dome for some breathtaking views!
DAILY TIP
Golden hour at the top of the Duomo was magical.
- Day Six -
Florence
All our hotels had breakfast included and the food was amazing! Italians traveling in America probably look at the hotel breakfasts here and wonder if it's edible. So after filling up, we had a day of Renaissance art. Leonardo, Botticelli, Michelangelo, it was all magnificent to see in person.
We spent the afternoon at another garden, the Bardini. It was gorgeous. And we did a little art collecting ourselves, with a purchase from a local Florentine artist.
DAILY TIP
Wake up early and grab an espresso at Caffè Perseo.
